Yacht Charter Booking Conditions

Booking

Bookings must be made in writing on the booking form and accompanied by a minimum of 25% deposit.  Telephone bookings will be held for 7 working days.  A confirmation of the booking will be made within seven days of the receipt of your booking form.  Your balance is due 28 days before the start of the charter.  Should you fail to pay on time then Moonfleet Sailing reserves the right to cancel the booking without refund of deposit.

Cancellation

If Moonfleet Sailing has to cancel the booking then alternative dates will be offered or a full refund will be made; If the weather forecast is greater than force 6 then charterers will have the opportunity to postpone the booking to a later date. Charterers will be liable for the full fee unless cancelled more than 28 days before the charter in which case only the deposit is forfeit.

Acceptance and Return of Vessel

The charterer shall have the opportunity to inspect the vessel and its equipment upon arrival, to satisfy him/her that the vessel is clean and in proper working order. Moonfleet reserve the right to alter the specification of the yacht without notice to the client, it is in the client’s interest to ring Moonfleet prior to arrival. The charterer hereby agrees to return the vessel in the same good and seaworthy condition, at the time specified on the booking form, free from debt and clear of all personal effects.  If required, arrangements can be made for the yacht to be cleaned for a fee of £35

Late Return

If it seems likely that the charterer will be unable to return the vessel before the time specified on the booking form then they should notify Moonfleet Sailing accordingly, to enable Moonfleet Sailing to make the best possible arrangements for any subsequent charterers.  For each day or part of a day that the vessel is overdue the charterer shall be liable to pay one and a half times the daily charter fee.  Moonfleet Sailing may, at its absolute discretion, agree to waive part or this entire extra fee if it accepts that there is a good reason for the vessel not being returned on time.

Insurance

Moonfleet Sailing hereby agrees to insure and keep insured the vessel against all usual maritime risks including third party risks to such an extent as Moonfleet Sailing in its absolute discretion shall deem appropriate.  Such insurance policy does not cover injury to, or loss of life, or damage to or loss of property of any person onboard against which the charterer should insure prior to the charter.  The vessel is not insured for racing under any circumstances.  The charterer shall give prompt notice to Moonfleet Sailing of any event giving, or which may give rise to a claim under the insurance policies.

If you have a Complaint

We aim to give you an enjoyable, trouble free charter.  If you do have a problem or complaint it is important, and in your own interest, to tell our representatives so that steps can be taken to resolve the matter on the spot.  If the complaint cannot be resolved there and then, please notify us in writing within 21 days of the date you returned from your holiday.  Because of the difficulties of investigating a complaint too long after the event, we will not consider any complaint unless notified to us in writing within 21 days.
