The course takes place over 2 weekends and 5 days, the first weekend is spent in the classroom learning the essentials of navigation and seamanship before spending the next 5 days at sea putting into practice what is learnt in the classroom. There is particular emphasis on boat handling for Day Skippers and during the 5 days at sea you will practice mooring under various conditions of wind and tide.  Students live aboard for the duration of the practical stage and visit many different harbours and anchorages to practice pilotage techniques.  You will complete up to 4 hours of night sailing to experience night pilotage and identifying lights.
