Conditions of Booking

1. BOOKING CONDITIONS

No Booking will be final until the correct Booking form has been completed and received by Moonfleet Sailing with the relevant deposit.
Provisional bookings will be held for a maximum of 7 days.

2. PAYMENT

Deposit: A deposit of 25% of the course fees is payable on booking.  (This deposit is NOT refundable in the event of any Cancellation unless covered by the conditions of a Cancellation Insurance scheme.  See section 4).  If the booking is within 28 days of the course date, FULL payment must be sent with the booking form.

Balance: Due 28 days before the commencement date for the course/charter.

NOTE: In the event of the final payment being late, Moonfleet Sailing reserve the right to accept a booking from the Stand-by list.  In this case all payments EXCEPT the initial deposit will be refunded.

3. AMENDMENTS TO BOOKINGS

Any alteration to the booking MUST be made to the Office and then confirmed in writing.  If acceptable, it will be actioned once written confirmation has been received.

Change of dates will only be acceptable if written confirmation is received by the Moonfleet office up to 28 days of the commencement date.  Within 28 Days of the commencement date any change of dates will be considered a cancellation of those dates and cancellation charges apply.

4. INSURANCE SCHOOL’S INSURANCE

All school boats and staff are insured against accident or third party and public liability but personal insurance against injury, accident or loss whilst at the school is the responsibility of the student and the school accepts no responsibility for any such injury, accident, damage or loss to a client’s property or person however caused.

Moonfleet Sailing cover automatically … Public Liability: £2,000,000

HOLIDAY INSURANCE

We are unable to rearrange courses that are cancelled: hence we strongly recommend holiday insurance as follows:

5. SAILING

In the interests of safety, Moonfleet Sailing’s representatives have complete discretion over sailing activities bearing in mind weather conditions and their assessment of the student’s ability.

6. BOATS

All sailing and cruising facilities are offered subject to availability.  The Company cannot be held responsible for loss of boat use due to adverse weather conditions.

CANCELLATIONS

In the event of any cancellation more than 28 days before the commencement date, any monies paid EXCEPT the initial deposit will be refunded.  Any cancellations after monies have been paid will be charged as follows:

Prior to 28 days of the commencement date                DEPOSIT
Less than 28 days of the commencement date            NO REFUND

The date of cancellation is the date of the receipt of the WRITTEN cancellation at the Moonfleet Sailing office.

CALLELLATION BY MOONFLEET SAILING

In the unlikely event that due to unforeseen circumstances Moonfleet Sailing has to cancel a course and no replacement  vessel can be found or alternative date can be arranged to the clients satisfaction then Moonfleet Sailing will refund all monies in full that have been paid for the cost of the course. There will be no refund of travel, hotel or other expenses incurred by the client to attend the course, Moonfleet Sailing’s liability ceases on payment of the course refund.

7. LIABILITY

All persons participating in a Moonfleet Sailing holiday MUST be able to swim 50 metres.  Moonfleet Sailing does not accept any liability for personal injury to, or the death of, any participant however caused, nor for any loss or damage resulting therefrom unless caused by proven negligence of the company.
All the above MUST be covered by the insurance of the participants directly.

8. IF YOU HAVE A COMPLAINT

We aim to give you an enjoyable, trouble free holiday.  If you do have a problem or complaint it is important, and in your own interest, to tell our representatives so that steps can be taken to resolve the matter on the spot.  If  the complaint cannot be resolved there and then, please notify us in writing within 21 days of the date you returned from your holiday.  Because of the difficulties of investigating a complaint too long after the event, we will not consider any complaint unless notified to us in writing within 21 days.

9. VARIATION OF CONDITIONS

No variation in these conditions or otherwise in the terms upon which a holiday is booked and promise to refund money paid to the Company shall be valid unless in writing and signed by the Principal of Moonfleet Sailing.

10. ALTERATIONS

All details given in the Moonfleet Sailing Brochure are given in good faith but we reserve the right to provide alternative comparable arrangements if for any reason we decide such alterations are necessary.  If we have to cancel any course for any reason, our students will have the option of accepting any alternative provided or having a full refund of all monies paid.  In that event our liability shall wholly cease upon the repayment of such monies.

11. EQUIPMENT

All yachts used at Moonfleet Sailing are approved by the Royal Yachting Association as suitable for the teaching of sailing.  Students MUST provide their own sleeping bags, pillows and pillowcases.
